Suchwein Merry Wine Day 1 - Preparation The Wine

Suchwein Merry Wine

Day 1
October 10, 2015
Funnel

The first day where we start to make our own wine. First we prepare all of the materials that we needed, such as: 1.5 kg of red grape, 2 pill of grape yeast, 2 empty bottle, 2 balloon, a knife, a plastic funnel, and a tea strainer.

Grape Yeast

Empty Bottles

Then, first we clean up the empty bottle, sanitize it, making sure that it is fully cleaned and safe to use. Next, we cut the grapes into halves, to ensure that the grapes will be exposed to the yeast. Of course before we cut the grapes, we have washed the grapes. Then after that, we insert the grapes into the bottle. Some of the grapes we removed the seeds, and some we leave it inside the fruit. In the same time, mashed the two grape yeast pill until it is in a powder form. (We used two pill because one pill is to small and not enough for 1.5 kg). Soon after that, we poured the yeast powder into the bottle, and then we lightly shake the bottle to let the yeast mix with the grapes. Lastly, we enclose the bottle with a balloon. We store the wine in a cool place away from the sunlight for 1 up to 2 weeks to make sure that the fermentation takes place well.

The following is the images of how you do the procedure:
